ServiceMeister is field service management software operated by Winstead Media (“we”, “us”). Home-service and trade businesses (“Service Companies”) use it to schedule jobs, dispatch technicians, send appointment updates, and invoice their customers. This policy explains what information we handle and how.
Information we collect
- Service Company accounts: names, business email addresses, phone numbers, and login credentials of the staff who use ServiceMeister.
- Customer information entered by Service Companies: the names, service addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of the people they serve, plus job details, notes, photos, signatures, estimates, and invoices.
- Technician location: when a technician taps “On My Way”, their device location is used to calculate an arrival time and shown on the customer's tracking page while they are en route.
- Technical data: basic logs (such as IP address, browser type, and error reports) needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use information
- To provide the service: scheduling, dispatch, estimates, invoicing, and appointment notifications.
- To send transactional text messages about a customer's appointment (see our SMS Terms).
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use customer data for advertising.
Text messaging and mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile phone numbers are used only to send the appointment messages a customer agreed to receive. Customers can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts.
Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run ServiceMeister, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Supabase (database, file storage, and authentication)
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Twilio (sending text messages)
- Google Maps Platform (maps, address lookup, and drive-time estimates)
- Anthropic (reading receipt photos and drafting invoice summaries)
We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Data retention
Service Companies control the customer records they create and can edit or delete them. We keep account and job data for as long as the Service Company's account is active, then delete it within 90 days of a verified deletion request, unless we are required to keep it longer by law.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Each Service Company's data is isolated from every other company's at the database level, technicians can only see the jobs assigned to them, and photos are stored privately.
Your choices
If you are a customer of a Service Company, contact that company to access, correct, or delete your information, or contact us and we will help. To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message.
Children
ServiceMeister is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above.
